Leon Padilla is flying high after learning an American-flag faux pas he uncovered is getting a fix.
He called Action 7 this week after learning the Veterans Affairs Hospital was giving out American flags to its veterans for Independence Day with the words "Made in China" written on each.
"You do not give a veteran, never ever, a flag that's not made in the United States," he said.
Padilla's discovery caught the attention of "ABC World News Tonight."
The network news show found a company in the United States that is willing to donate 100 American-made American flags to the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Albuquerque.
Padilla said he is touche by the gesture and thinks veterans will be, too.
"I'm really happy KOAT took the initiative and ABC and the nation will see what we've got going on," Padilla said.
The hospital said it hasn't received complaints about the Chinese-made flags. A representative said the anonymous donor who dropped off the flags did so with good intentions.
