UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rome Mayor Joe Fusco joined Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri and other city officials for the mayor's 35th Quality of Life sweep through the streets of Utica on Wednesday.

The two took time to announce an Urban Forestry Initiative, made possible by a grant application submitted by both cities. Each city will get 100 trees to plant in the hopes of improving their city's appearances and therefore, community pride.

"This is about cooperation," said Rome Mayor Joe Fusco. "It's what the governor has been talking about. It's communities working together to solve problems, together."

The total amount of the grant is $25,000.
