How to Develop Computer Proficiency ? Clarity and Resolve

Important basics
Not everyone is blessed with the technical know-how of operating a computer, much less the basics
of computer operations like encoding and browsing. For IT professionals, it is important to establish a strong foundation of knowledge by getting a grasp of the computer basics like data entry, programming, web designing, software analysis, etc. A doctor of 20 years or engineer of 30 years may find their skills to be rusty, but they manage to keep it sharp by learning new tricks. The same thing can be done by IT professionals who?ve been around for more than 3 decades. After all, you can still teach old dog new tricks. Living in a technical world It has already reached a point where everything is done by machines nowadays, from computing the payroll of workers to calculating the number of hours put in by employees to keeping a record of every sale made for the day. If you think that only IT professionals need to develop their computer proficiency, I am sorry to say that you are mistaken. In reality, if you want to cope with the rapid changes in technology, you need to be develop the right computer skills. You don?t need to be a fancy web designer or a talented programmer to be an expert in computers. There are two ways on how you can develop your computer proficiency:

1.) Online computer courses ? Online education is a growing trend and people are starting to recognize the numerous benefits of enrolling in online computer courses. These courses can range from the most basic modules like Excel training to the more complicated Python and Database programming. This is also a good option for people who are occupied with other important matters like a full time job, family matters and chores, and even another course. The best thing about online education is that you can learn and study at your own pace, so there?s no absolute pressure in learning your lessons, unless there?s a deadline. 2.) Tutorials ? Tutorials can be found online, and IT professionals read up on different tutorials every now and then. Although they are completely different and similar to online education, tutorials are limited to giving you the knowledge that you need minus a one on one contact with the author or the teacher. Some tutorials are reliable and some aren?t, so you?re really forced to do a bit of ?trial and error? in picking out the right one for you. If you are still in the process of developing computer skills, I suggest taking up an online course or two. If you are improving your skills, tutorials might do wonders for you if you don?t have the necessary finances to fund your tuition online.
